Internship in plant breeding

OBS, Organisation Bretonne de Sélection, is a union of agricultural cooperatives that creates high-performance vegetable varieties to meet the needs of farmers and consumers.

From research to the marketing of seeds, OBS has chosen to control each stage in order to secure the supply of seeds. OBS's mission is to develop genetics that meet their specific needs, their unique terroir, their market and their customers' requirements. Work on the introduction of traits of interest in cauliflower.

Level: Traineeship BAC + 4/+5

• Setting up a cross-breeding protocol in agreement with the breeder,
• Pollination and monitoring of pollinated plants,
• Embryo rescue in the in vitro culture laboratory and plant monitoring,
• Bibliographic research,
• Report on the effectiveness of the various methods used,
• Occasional participation in other varietal creation projects.

• Knowledge: Plant breeding, in vitro cultivation (in-house training possible)
• Operational skills: Plant breeding techniques, laboratory techniques
• Taste for : the plant world and plant breeding, laboratory techniques, teamwork
• People skills : Autonomy, perseverance, rigour and precision
• Languages: French

Duration: 5-6 months (from 01/03/2024 to 31/08/2024)

 Remuneration in accordance with current regulations.
